A change in interests and the critical shortage of water in South Australia have seen a massive change in this area of the garden. Previously this area was a part of a very large cut flower and vegetable garden - lately much of it has been left fallow for most of the year.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>The salvias in the foreground were planted in response to looming water shortages and proved attractive plants continually visited by birds and bees. We had access to large quantities of water and were quite willing to pay the excess water bills of around $300 per annum.
